Don’t worry—the needles stay safely tucked away until we get to know each other better! And, acupuncture may not be the best treatment option for your particular condition(s).
Your Initial Consultation
Let’s get to know each other. No needles.
It’s important that I have a clear understanding of your condition and your health history to fully comprehend how the situation came to be. On your initial visit, we will discuss your condition(s), your medical history, your lifestyle, and habits. Some questions I may ask include:
- Have ever experienced faints or fits in the past?
- Do you have e a pacemaker or any other electrical implants?
- Do you have a bleeding disorder or are you taking blood thinners
- Do you have a damaged heart valve or have any other particular risk of infection?
- Do you have any blood-born infectious diseases such as Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C or Human immunodeficiency virus (HIV)?
- Are you pregnant?
Diagnosis and Treatment Recommendations
I’ve seen this kind of thing before…
After I’ve had an opportunity to get to know you and your situation, I can then provide you with my recommended treatment plan, including specific treatment types or a combination of treatments. Depending on your personal needs, your customized treatment plan could take anywhere from 5-20 or more sessions. I may recommend a variety of traditional Chinese medicine treatment methods for optimal results.
Often times, since you’ve come to the office and are suffering poor health, once we’ve established a plan of action, we can begin treatment at that same visit.
Monitoring
How’s it going?
Each subsequent treatment you receive after your initial office visit will follow your personal treatment plan. We will track your progress, discuss how you feel, and evaluate the next step as you progress through your personal treatment plan. You may end up with fewer treatments than initially prescribed, perhaps a few more, or I may adjust the types of treatment. It all depends on your progress and how you respond to treatment.
Reevaluation
Fixed up and feelin’ fine
Upon the conclusion of your outlined number of treatments, we will conduct a reexamination to assess your improvement. We’ll discuss how you feel and what I’ve observed. It is my goal to heal your initial complaints. At this time, it may be beneficial to discuss preventative measures to keep you in good health.
